Slip Resistance Ratings effective January 2017
Slip resistance requirements are detailed in the New Zealand Building Code Clause D1 – Access Routes. The principal objective for this code is to safeguard people from injury during movement into, within, and out of buildings. For level access routes under the expected conditions of use, walking surfaces require a SRV (Slip Resistance Value) classification of not less than 39 as per AS Standard 4586:2013. For sloping access routes, including stairs, a calculation is needed to determine the necessary safe slip level resistance required; refer Appendix F of AS 4586:2013 or contact Cabots Customer Service for assistance, 0800 222 687.
Intergrain Ultragrip must be added in order to achieve the required slip ratings.
