I have a coating that is peeling and flaking.

Peeling may be caused by:

• Insufficient surface preparation.
• Application over an incompatible coating.
• Insufficient maintenance of exterior coatings.
• Excessive timber movement.
• Moisture ingress into timber.

Also see Blistering. Remove the existing coating by either sanding or using a timber stripper. Then re-apply the system.
